TVS Phoenix Launched

Priced at Rs 51,000 for the drum brake version and Rs 53,000 for the disc brake version, the TVS Phoenix marks the company's re-entry into the competitive 125cc motorcycle segment.

TVS PHOENIX 125CC

Those considering an executive commuter have a new option in the form of the TVS Phoenix, which has been launched at a price of Rs 51,000(with drum brake) and Rs 53,000(with disc brake). Both prices are ex-showroom,Chennai.

On the face of it, the Phoenix appears like any other 125cc bike in its segment through certain styling and convenience features differentiate it from the rest in its segment and make it more appealing. These include a backlit digital speedometer with amber backlit, a digital fuel gauge, a low battery reminder, a trip meter, service reminder and soft touch switch gear. The bike also comes with petal disc brake at the front and "car-like" hazard lamps for enhanced safety. Another standout features is the huge 125cc decal plastered on the tank that adds to the bike's attractiveness and road presence.

Powering the motorcycle is a new 125cc "Eco Thrust" motor that develop 11PS of power and 10Nm of torque. The lean burning engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox and delivers a mileage of 67kmpl according to TVS. To improve ride comfort, TVS has employed a five-step adjustable "series spring" suspension and high response damper.

The Phoenix marks TVS re-entry into the competitive 125cc executive segment ruled by the Bajaj Discover 125ST, Honda CB Shine and Hero Super Splendor. Its first 125cc product was the TVS Flame which didn't quite set the sales charts on fire. However, TVS hopes the Phoenix will help it rise from the ashes(just as the mythological bird) and regain its position as the country's No.3 bike maker.Related: TVS Phoenix to launch late September.

TVS other plans include re-launching the 100cc Victor and two other scooters within the next 12 months.
